Spooky Drinks
For those of you who will be entertaining this Halloween, here are a few pics from Martha Stewart that I thought you would enjoy. I'm not a big Halloween fan, but that doesn't mean I can't participate in sampling fun drinks, right??
Berry Scary MartiniServes 1 -
1 cup ice
1 ounce black vodka
2 ounces cherry juice
Fresh raspberries and blueberries, for garnish
Combine ice, vodka, and cherry juice in a cocktail shaker; shake vigorously. Pour into a martini glass. Thread raspberries and blueberries onto a cocktail skewer, and place in drink. Serve immediately.

Missing Girlfriends

I was having a real girlfriends moment this morning. Not my close friends, though I heart each and every one of them :)
I'm talking about Girlfriends - the now cancelled show that was written by the very talented Mara Brock Akil (who is now a consulting producer and writer for the hilarious Cougar Town).
Besides the laughs and heartfelt issues, I loved the fashion sense of Joan - played by the adorable Tracee Ellis Ross. I was more impressed to find that her character's style was just a mere mirror of Tracee's own personal style. She always dazzles at red carpet events and launches. So eclectic and chic. And don't get me started about her hair! I can't wait to see what her next project is.

You've Hit the Right Key
I adore statement pieces. It doesn't matter if it's big ruffles, a chunky necklace, or a to-die-for bag, it's great to have or wear something that most people wouldn't think to wear; a piece or two that makes the entire outfit. That's how I feel about the Kate Spade All Typed Up Clyde. It's too fun of a bag to pass up! I wouldn't wear it all of the time - just those days I feel carefree... like skipping around town with the girls, browsing through vintage shops while grabbing a drink or two along the way. Now, I just need to find someone to get it for me ;-)

Falling for Fushia
Whether it's a full room, one wall, or a few accents, I am loving the look of fushia in a room. When I saw these pics on Elle Decor, I had to post them. I automatically thought of complements of grey and turquoise. How fun would it be to relax or entertain with those lively colors?

I'm Pretty Gyrl Approved!
Do yourself a favor and become familiar with this site - because it's going places. I'm very proud of its creator - my good friend Shar’ron Antoinette. She is the Founder/Owner of PRettyGYRL Public Relations boutique and Founder/Sole-Blogger of TheprettygyrlPRess.com, which is a site that provides information for “young grinders” to keep them entertained, motivated and successful . The emphasis of the PRettygryl Empire is helping entrepreneurs and organizations tell their awesome story by providing quality public relations services, and in some cases promotions, to clients. Her motto is “Think BIG thoughts, do BIG things!”.
Outside of her work building The PRettygyrl Empire, Shar’ron works fulltime as the training manager at HealthHIV, a national HIV organization that works to build the capacity of primary care providers and other frontline staff treating or working with people living with HIV. As an African-American woman, HIV is an issue that is dear to Shar’ron since African-American women represent one-half of all new HIV infections.
Shar’ron is a graduate of Temple University in Philadelphia with a degree in Public Relations. She enjoys, traveling, museums, attending networking events and socializing with “the up and coming”! Her next venture is SheShe® Radio which she hopes to launch in 2011.

You guys know how much I heart West Elm :)Well, I have to share an event they are having tomorrow. If you are in the Philadelphia area, please check out their official kickoff to DesignPhiladelphia featuring the works of Sarah Zwerling. Here's what you need to know:

If the words 'event' and 'party' aren't enough to bring you, maybe these cute dessert trays will. I mean, the holidays are coming around. Don't you have some entertaining to do?

While They are Young...
I am a fan of graphic design. Although I don't practice often, I have taken classes and dabbled in this fine and imaginative world. Some may even call me (yes, me!) a graphic designer.Well, I also happen to be a big kid trapped in the body of a lovely and healthy young woman in her late-twenties :)
So when I saw the book Alphabeasties: And Other Amazing Types, I almost died. What a beautiful way design and learning has been combined in the creation of this book. I wish I had a book like this while growing up! It will definitely make it to the bookshelf of my son/daughter one day :)

How Majestic
For some reason, this room feels like it was meant for a modern day queen. I love the tall windows, the mix of colors and fabrics, the antique chandelier, and even the bar cart. I would love to kick my heels up here!Friday, September 24, 2010
For the Love of Weekends
This flower pin spoke volumes when I saw it. It was just what I needed... a friendly reminder :)

Hang It Up
I'm loving everything about this pic: the color on the wall, the pop of orange in the boots, the stereo bag, and of course the wire tree itself! Wouldn't you just love to hang your coat (and maybe your troubles) on this rack at the end of a hard days work??
